About Bun Affleck
Requirements:
Must meet all family members
Kids (any age)
Secure hutch
Meet Bun Affleck,
Bun Affleck is a sensitive little guy and may be a little stressed when it comes to loud noises. Other than that, we have observed him to be friendly, happy to interact & highly curious.
He has a lovely playful side and is quite social too.
Bun Affleck is suitable for any home environment & he is also open to meet kids of any age too providing that they are understanding of how special bunnies are. It's important to note that rabbits are often curious & cautious by nature so Bun Affleck is looking for a home with a family who will love him & make him feel like part of the family.
Bun Affleck is a quiet bun, who allows handling & being picked up BUT he may panic at the start, just make sure you support his little bottom and be mindful of his hind legs. Once he has settled, he’ll cuddle up to you. Bun Affleck doesn’t have to be picked up though, he’ll happily have all of his paws on the ground, and he’ll come to you if he wants a cuddle (or two). Bun Affleck loves back scratches & gentle pats between his ears.
In terms of housing, Bun Affleck will need a safe & secure hutch. Somewhere out of the sun with plenty of shade. A place that is comfortable & cool for the warmer months, and warm & cozy for the cooler months. A portable hutch that can be taken inside would great too, especially for really hot days or really cold nights as buns are sensitive to weather.
Bun Affleck will also need access to fresh clean water, an assortment of toys to chew on & play with and fresh food daily. Toys don't have to be expensive, simple cat toys like rattle balls bring Bun Affleck a lot of joy! He’ll happily play with them & zoom around – but only if there is no food as this boy is very food orientated!
As Bun Affleck does like his food (a lot), you may need to monitor his intake to ensure that he doesn’t become too portly.
Bun Affleck is recently litter trained, but it's best to show him where the litter tray is when you get home to minimise any accidents. He prefers a very clean litter tray. If you'd like to house train him it would be good having multiple litter trays available for him to use.
As we cannot test, we are unsure how Bun Affleck would go living with dogs or cats - this would be up to the discretion of his new owners. As rabbits are social creatures, Bun Affleck would do well living with another rabbit, just make sure that they have a slow introduction to ensure that they get along.
Staff Comments: Bun Affleck is very friendly & come to greet you whenever you come past. He is food obsessed! When out of his hutch, he is more interested in going back in there than exploring, but that could just be because of his confidence. Inside a home, he may be more willing to explore but from what we can see, he likes being in his hutch (probably because he knows there is food in there).

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C3 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
