About David Hasselhop
Requirements:
Must meet all family members
Kids (any age)
Secure hutch
Meet David Hasselhop,
David Hasselhop is an independent dude, and if we are to be honest, for a little guy he can be a little stubborn – although, his stubbornness makes him all that much cuter!
David Hasselhop is agreeable, curious but a tad bit anxious at times.
David Hasselhop is suitable for any home environment & he is also open to meet kids of any age too providing that they are understanding of how special bunnies are. It's important to note that rabbits are often curious & cautious by nature so David Hasselhop is looking for a home with a family who will love him & make him feel safe.
David Hasselhop is a quiet bun, who allows handling & being picked up BUT he may fret at the start, just make sure you support his little bottom and be mindful of his hind legs. David Hasselhop quickly settles when he is held securely.
David Hasselhop loves back scratches – he’ll come to you when he’s in need of some pampering.
In terms of housing, David Hasselhop will need a safe & secure hutch. Somewhere out of the sun with plenty of shade. A place that is comfortable & cool for the warmer months, and warm & cozy for the cooler months. A portable hutch that can be taken inside would great too, especially for really hot days or really cold nights as buns are sensitive to weather.
David Hasselhop will also need access to fresh clean water, an assortment of toys to chew on & play with and fresh food daily. Toys don't have to be expensive, simple cat toys like rattle balls are David Hasselhops toy of choice! He likes to toss them around his hutch.
David Hasselhop isn’t fussy with food, but he is unsure of grass, preferring more dense food options.
David Hasselhop is recently litter trained, but it's best to show him where the litter tray is when you get home to minimise any accidents. He does occasionally miss the litter tray, so a larger tray would be better for him.
As we cannot test, we are unsure how David Hasselhop would go living with dogs or cats - this would be up to the discretion of his new owners. As rabbits are social creatures, David Hasselhop would do well living with another rabbit, just make sure that they have a slow introduction to ensure that they get along.
Staff Comments: David Hasselhop is a chill little bunny & is happy to do his own thing, his own way. He is not afraid to tell you how he feels and will do so by gently batting you with his paws in protest. When we let him out of his hutch, he was happy to explore the area and entertain himself.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
