About Maisey
Maisy | female | Staffy cross | 1 - 2 years
Dog friendly : Yes
Cat friendly : probably not
Kid friendly : Yes
Toilet trained : Has been outside while in care.
Energy level : Medium - High
Size : Large 30kg
Maisy arrived into care pregnant after being picked up as a stray. She has now raised her pups (the Nintendo litter) and is now ready to find a home of her own.
Maisy has shown her solid temperament while in care. She adores people and showed no issue with people handling her newborn pups. Maisy loves a cuddle and will stand quietly next to you to receive pats.
Maisy loves to play and has a rough and tumble style with a few zoomies for good measure. It's important that a new doggy friend also enjoys this style of play.
While we are unsure if Maisy is house trained, she shows signs that she may be. Her behavior suggests that she previously lived inside. She has also never had an accident in her crate or in the puppy pen, always holding on until let out to toilet.
Maisy hasn’t shown any issues with separation or escaping. However, she has always had a doggy friend whilst in care. She has also shown herself to be a good guard dog.
While close to it, Maisy isn't perfect and does have a couple of habits that we are working on and that are improving with consistent boundaries. She can become over excited when initially seeing her humans resulting in jumping up and mouthing hands. As stated these have improved and will require consistency to cement new positive habits.
Maisy's energy will need consistent boundaries and a home where she is stimulated on a daily basis. Maisy is a smart girl and is very food driven.
Maisy would do best in an active home where she will be allowed to be part of the family.
If you are looking for an active, intelligent girl who loves her people the Maisy may just be the girl for you.
Maisey is $350 to adopt and comes desexed, microchipped, C5 vaccinated, HW tested (negative) and given flea/tick/worm/heartworm prevention.
