Roxie

Meet Roxie, a delightful Foxie x Chihuahua mix who embodies a gentle and joyful spirit. Roxie is the epitome of a loving companion who adores spending her days basking in the sunshine, playing with her beloved cat friends, and cuddling on the couch with her humans.

Roxie’s day starts with bathing in the warm morning sun in the secure yard. She enthusiastically helps you make the bed before returning to her sunny spots in the garden. Mid-morning coffee breaks include sharing a biscuit, followed by more sunbathing. Lunchtime is a special treat, as Roxie eagerly awaits her half of a cheese toasty. She then relaxes until it's time for a brisk 15-20 minute walk, where she enjoys her favorite activities: digging at rabbit poo and having a burst of the zoomies. Afterward, Roxie patiently waits for dinner and loves to help prepare the human's meal, either by sitting nearby or snuggling with her favorite cat on the couch.

Roxie is well-mannered and understands commands, She's an excellent walking companion and behaves exceptionally well on a leash, although she tends to be indifferent to other dogs. She isn't suited for a home with boisterous or larger dogs, nor has she been tested with children under 12 years old, making her ideal for families with older kids who appreciate a quieter environment.

Quirky and charming, Roxie loves to chase and be chased. She enjoys accompanying you to the mailbox or taking the bins out, and she's your little evening companion as you both watch the sunset. For her, life is a series of small joys, from showing off her toys to engaging in occasional dance-offs. Though she barks to alert you about something amiss, she is generally a quiet presence in the home.

Roxie thrives on love, kindness, and family interactions. She's desexed, vaccinated, and receives annual heartworm vaccinations. She uses a harness on walks to avoid throat pressure. Roxie doesn’t enjoy car trips she drools and becomes car-sick even on short trips. Remarkably adaptable, she loves drinking from the water fountain meant for the cats and enjoys a warm bath in the kitchen sink.

With a low to medium energy level, Roxie is happy to roam the garden, indulge in brief games, and then relax with her favorite humans and feline friends. Roxie would flourish in a home where she is not often left alone, preferably with a gentle small dog or cats with whom she can form a loving bond.
