About Scout
Do you enjoy relaxed mornings, hearty meals, and the company of a loyal best mate? Then Scout could be your ideal companion!
Scout’s the type of dog who is all about two things: being by your side and indulging in some tasty treats. She's full of love, energy, and just a bit of cheekiness, which makes life with her all the more fun.
Picture this: Scout zooming around the yard, rolling in the mud with a huge grin on her face, then trotting over for cuddles before settling down on her favourite comfy bed for a snooze. That’s Scout—an all-in kind of gal.
While she’s got some zoomies and loves a good adventure, Scout is also a master of relaxation. She's a big fan of lazy mornings, preferring to snooze in rather than demanding a crack-of-dawn walk. And when she’s up, it’s food first, every single time. Scout has a big heart, but let’s be real—she’s got a big appetite too! Keep an eye on her portions, or you might find her transforming into a roly-poly lovebug.
She's got a fun personality—think of her as your loyal adventure buddy who’s also down for Netflix and snacks on the couch. She's not much into fetch, but hand her a chew toy, and she’s in heaven. Speaking of toys, the only one that's managed to survive her enthusiastic chewing is an extra-large Kong tuffy! Scout loves to chew, so having a stock of durable toys to keep her entertained is a must.
Scout loves nothing more than being with her people and will happily follow you around the house, soaking up all your attention. She’s fantastic indoors—well-behaved and content to relax by your side or enjoy a snooze in the sun. While she’s full of energy and excitement, Scout would thrive with a calm, centred person who can help balance her enthusiastic nature.
One thing to note is that Scout hasn’t quite mastered loose-leash walking just yet. She’ll need a harness and some patience at the start of her walks as she tends to pull in excitement. Once she’s settled, you can swap to a long lead and let her enjoy a more relaxed stroll. Scout prefers greeting other dogs in calm on-lead situations as she doesn't feel confident in a busy dog park setting.
Scout truly shines as the only pet in the home, forging deep bonds with her humans. She loves being the centre of attention, making her a delightful companion in a household where she can soak up all the love and affection.
When it comes to her ideal home, Scout would thrive in a child-free environment. She feels quite stressed around babies, often retreating to her bed when they’re nearby and barking when she hears them cry. A peaceful, adult-only household would allow her to feel secure and relaxed, allowing her joyful spirit to flourish.
She’s ready to join you on long walks through the neighbourhood or to simply snooze at your feet. If you’re after a food-loving, loyal, and lively companion, Scout’s got her leash ready!
Medical notes
Scout had surgery for a torn cruciate ligament in 2021, and she has recovered well. Scout is currently taking joint supplements to provide additional support.
Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
