About Rufus
Rufus is a sweet-natured and gentle ginger boy looking for a loving home. He was rescued from a high-traffic street colony after one of his colony mates was tragically found run over. Initially scared and timid, Rufus has blossomed in foster care thanks to regular meals and lots of love. He absolutely adores pats, belly rubs, and daily nose kisses! Rufus loves to play, especially with his wand toy, but he also enjoys lounging in his cozy bed. He would make a wonderful addition to any home, bringing warmth, love, and plenty of laughs!
My Ideal Home: I would thrive in a home that offers the patience and love I need to feel safe. A quieter environment would be best, with indoor/outdoor access once I’m settled in. I’m comfortable being by myself during the day, but I still love being around my humans for playtime and cuddles.
My Energy Level: I’m a mid-level energy cat. I enjoy playing with toys and interacting with my humans, but I also appreciate my naps throughout the day.
My Suitability to Children: I would be best suited for older children who can appreciate my gentle nature and interact with me in a calm and respectful way.
My Suitability to Other Pets: I would likely be suitable for other cats, as I grew up in a colony. I haven’t been tested with dogs yet, but I might be okay with them if they respect my space and boundaries.
Fun Fact: Rufus spent most of his life living next to a KFC on a busy road and was quite scared when he first arrived in foster care. Can you guess what helped him come out of his shell? When we brought home KFC one day, the familiar scent made him feel right at home!
If you think you could provide Rufus with the loving forever home he deserves, please reach out! He’s ready to bring joy and companionship to your life!

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
