About Archie
Requirements:
Must meet all family members
Kids (5yrs+)
Open to meet cats
Inside only
Meet Archie,
Archie is a gentle, sweet boy who is suitable for first time owners. He is a cat then genuinely loves love. He is agreeable & friendly.
Archie is best suited to a calm & quiet home as he is a little sensitive to noise.
Archie is open to meet kids from 5 years & up – reason for this is to ensure that the kids are cat savvy & respect Archie as he can be a little anxious & wary in new environments – but if you give him time to settle, he becomes confident (although, lazy!).
Archie doesn’t mind being picked up, carried & cuddled as he loves affection of any kind. He especially likes pats down his back & head scratches.
As we are unable to test in the environment, we are unsure if Archie would be suitable to live with dogs. This would be up to the discretion of his new owners.
Archie previously lived with cats, so we think that he would be fine to be introduced to new cats in the home as long as the introduction is gradual & controlled to minimise stress to Archie & the existing cats.
Archie is best to be indoors only for the simple fact that he hated being in the cat park – it caused him great distress to be outside. He loves being inside, where he feels safe.
Archie has low energy, you’ll often find him curled up in his bed, purring his little heart out but he does show *some* interest with toys, especially string toys. This is when you’ll get to witness his rare playful streak & curious nature.
Archie is not fussy with food; he loves any food offered to him.
Archie is also tidy, as he always uses his litter tray.
Staff Comments: Archie is pretty chill guy overall, once he is comfy! He loves affection and will let you know that by showing you how affectionate he can be. You'll often see him in bed & if he''s not in bed, he is prancing around his condo, purring & making biscuits. He also has a (rare) playful side!

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
