Meet Sushi,
Sushi is an independent girl with a unique communication style. She is best suited with an experienced owner whose owned cats before. Sushi is also agreeable, friendly and quite outgoing. Sushi is a little vocal, she likes to have a chat and meow, but she also may hiss at odd times. Her hissing is not an indication that she is angry or upset, this is just how she likes to communicate & talk.
Sushi is a little sensitive when it comes to loud noises & big, bold movements, so she is best suited to a calm & quiet home in addition she is also best suited with children over the age of 12 too as she may bat you with her paws, but she never does it in a mean way – she’s just a curious girl, who likes to touch with her paws. But don’t let this deter you, Sushi is as sweet as they come & she’s very affectionate & engaging (although, some would say she is short tempered) we say that she is just a girl that knows what she is like – she has never hurt anyone with her unique play style.
Sushi loves all sorts of pats providing they are slow & deliberate, she can handle rough play as long as you can handle her rough play, too.
Sushi enjoys being picked up & cuddled for short periods of time, she prefers all four paws on the ground. She also enjoys a slower approach to her being picked up.
Unfortunately, Sushi would not be suitable to live with dogs.
Sushi is open to meet cats, she appears to like seeing them & doesn’t get upset when they are around her.
Sushi is best to be indoors only. The outside world comes with many risks, such as her potentially roaming, getting lost, injured or worse.
Sushi has high energy; this playful girl likes to kick it into over-drive as she loves to play! Sushi is curious & doesn’t mind exploring & getting into things that interest her. She loves any toy that is offered to her!
Sushi is not fussy with food, she will gladly accept any food offered to her and she is a clean girl, always using her litter tray without a problem!
Staff Comments: Sushi may be a little cray when you first see her, but once you get to know to to interact with her you'll see that she is just like any other cat - sweet, affectionate, loving and playful. She's honestly such a sweet girl but we understand that her way of communicating may be a bit confronting at first. We wouldn't change her for the World though, she's such a unique, quirky character!

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
