About Joey - 9 Month Old Cattle Dog X
Joey is a Red Cattle Cross with an adorable stumpy tail and the softest ears you’ll ever touch. This sweet boy wins over the hearts of everyone he meets.
Joey at a glance:
🐾 house and crate trained
🐾 very dog friendly, but not tested with cats or pocket pets
🐾 would benefit from someone who works from home or has another dog
🐾 will need ongoing training, regular exercise and mental stimulation
🐾 plays well with kids of all ages
Joey is a gentle soul who loves nothing more than playing at the park, going for walks, and snuggling up with his humans. While he can be a bit shy when meeting new people, he warms up quickly and isn’t shy about making new doggy friends. He is friendly and happy to play with dogs of all sizes, and has shown no aggression while in foster care. Joey is great with kids, but because he’s still a young pup and easily excited, he should be supervised around younger children to avoid accidental bumps.
Since arriving in foster care, Joey has shown that he’s a quick learner. He’s mastered basic commands like “sit” and “wait,” and is currently working on “leave it” and “with me” during walks. Joey is also house-trained and uses a dog door to take himself out when nature calls. He’s crate-trained and sleeps soundly in his crate at night. Joey loves a good mental challenge and has quickly figured out every food puzzle he’s been given, showcasing his intelligence and love for learning. He is a foodie at heart, but he is not good aggressive and will happily wait his turn at the water bowl
Joey is still getting used to going in the car but is improving with this every day. He can find new places is a little intimidating at first, but settles into new environments quickly.
While he is friendly with dogs and has been around reptiles and fish without any issues, though he hasn’t been tested with cats or pocket pets, so this would need to be considered in his future home.
Joey would thrive in a home where he isn’t left alone for long periods. He loves being around people and would do best with another dog to keep him company or with someone who is home more often than not. A secure, fenced yard is a must to give Joey the space he needs to play and explore safely. Joey also needs to be allowed inside to truly feel at home.
As a young dog, Joey needs ongoing training and a semi-active lifestyle to keep him happy and healthy. While he’s improving with car rides, he may need some patience and encouragement to fully settle into new environments. His love for food makes him eager to learn, so continuing his training should be a rewarding experience.
Joey is a loving and smart pup who’s ready to find a forever family that will give him the love, training, and companionship he deserves. If you’re looking for a sweet and loyal companion who’s eager to learn and grow with you, Joey might just be the perfect addition to your family!
Joey is currently in foster care in Raymond Terrace, NSW and is available for adoption interstate. Joey’s adoption fee is $600 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped.
