About Brandy
Cuddles? Yes please!
Toys? Yes please!
Am I cute? Is that a trick question? Look at me!
My name is Brandy. I came into care at 4 weeks old with my mum and brother after we were rescued from a factory.
We all had cat flu and I was very sick, but we all pulled through and look at me now! As a result, you can often hear my raspy breathing to this day, but X-rays have confirmed my heart and lungs look ok, so I like to think I’m just special.
My foster mum says that when I was little I was a tiny fluff ball and when I walked on the floor, you couldn’t see my legs and so I looked like a tumbleweed blowing in the wind!
If you are looking for a kitten that you can have a lot of fun with, that’s me. I love to chase the laser light, dangly toys, balls, and I especially love the strings that hang from hoodies! I also love a nice warm snuggle.
I thrive as a solo cat but am wonderfully gentle and great with children. I make an ideal companion for a family that can provide me the affection.
I will fill your days with joy and your evenings with a soothing purr.
If you're ready to welcome a charming, snuggly kitten into your life, I am eager to meet my new family!

Medical notes
Brandy is FIV+, this means her immune system is not as robust as in an FIV negative cat. However, there is now a lot of research and studies that show FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives just like FIV negative cats, if they receive a high quality diet and routine veterinary care, and live an indoor lifestyle to prevent exposure to harmful parasites and infectious diseases.
FIV is only transferred cat to cat via deep bite wounds, not through behaviours such as mutual grooming or through fomites, as the virus can not survive outside the infected cat's body for any length of time.
One of the main concerns with FIV+ cats are dental. Like any cat, it is important to maintain good dental hygiene to prevent any issues.
