About Molly
Requirements:
Experienced owners
Must meet all family members
Kids (5yrs+)
Best as only dog - needs socialisation
Meet Molly,
About: Molly is outgoing, excitable and at times boisterous and is best suited to experienced owners. Molly has a permanent smile on her perfect, little face but she can also be a little aloof at times – tending to day dream a bit… But with saying that, Moly is also agreeable & friendly too.
Molly is suitable for any household environment & would be a great choice for people who lead active lifestyles, as she loves to explore & would love to be out exploring with you.
Ideal Home: Molly is best to live in a standalone house, with a medium to large yard & high secure fencing.
Free access to inside the home would be great for Molly, but she would also be fine to be outside most of the time too.
Family: Molly is open to meet kids from 5 years & up. Reason for this is that she can be a bit of a rumble, tumble kind of dog. She loves to play but may be a little rough for smaller kids.
Molly is fine to live with people who work part-time.
Furry Friends: Molly is best to be the only dog in the home. Her dog assessment wasn’t bad, but she was more interested in her surrounds than with the dog in front of her (there is that aloofness). We think hat with a little more social walks & social training that she could happily make dog friends but may not be the kind of dog to live with another dog as she is quite independent.
Molly would not be suited to live with cats/pocket pets as she does have high prey-drive.
Training & Development: Molly would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience & group classes should she become more interested in making dog friends (we will update her profile).
Molly rarely barks, she is fairly quiet.
Molly is still learning his name, but she does know how to ‘sit’ & will offer a sit before being given her food. She is food motivated, often taking treats gently, so having treats on you during training to mark good behaviour would be an excellent idea.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Molly has high-range energy levels and would benefit from exercise, play, or walks from 20-60mins per day to keep her happy & healthy.
Molly walks well on lead, but she can be quite strong on lead, so loose leash training should be apart of her training. She is best walked with a martingale or on a harness for full control.
Molly is not too keen on paying with toys, she prefers human interaction & personal play.
Staff Comments: Molly is really sweet, but she is determined to go for her walks. She loves going for them & very interested in exploring the world around her.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C3 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
