About Darcy
Meet Darcy, a 4-year-old super sweet lady who's just waiting for her forever family to love! Darcy is an absolute ball fanatic and would be over the moon to have kids at home who want to play outside and become her new best friends. Whether it's a game of fetch or just running around the yard, Darcy's playful energy makes her a perfect companion for an active household.
Darcy gets along with other dogs but has some jealousy issues when it comes to sharing human attention or toys. If your dog is laid-back and happy to let Darcy enjoy her own fun, they'll get along just fine! She's house trained, making her the perfect addition to your family.
Though she's okay with cats, Darcy will need a slow introduction to any feline friends in your home. She thrives in an environment where someone is home most of the time, making her a great fit for families who love spending time together.
Darcy would do best with kids old enough to play outside with her or cuddle up on the couch for movie night. If you're ready to give Darcy the love and attention she deserves, she'll be the most loyal and loving friend you could ask for!
To book a meet and greet with Darcy please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
