About Shay
Shay is a handsome 6 month old black & tan Kelpie pup who is small in stature with a lovely gentle affectionate nature.
Shay can be shy with new people but has quickly blossomed into a more confident social pup who enjoys his long walks at the local off leash dog beach.
Everyone who meets Shay is enchanted by his sweet personality, striking markings and petite size.
Shay has been friendly with all dogs & people he meets & has settled in very quickly with the resident dogs in his foster home. Shay is crate trained for sleeping indoors at night & settles without a peep till morning.
Shay is toilet trained & has good house manners.
Shay loves his chew toys and is easily redirected away from anything he shouldn’t chew.
Shay is a very intelligent & trainable & learning basic commands such as sit,
wait, come and leave it & is eager to please. Shay is also learning recall training is going very well in the yard and on a long leash
at the beach. Shay also walks politely on a lead around the
local suburb and is slowly adapting to busier streets with more cars & people.
Shay is very food motivated & loves the reward of the tone of your voice with a “Good boy” 😍
Shay often will fly onto your lap with a big cuddle & kiss when you call his name. Shay loves a cuddle & calms when being held in your arms
Shay weighs approx 8.2kg so as an adult will probably only be about 13-14kg in size -
so he’s a smaller sized kelpie boy. He has shown no signs of anxiety when left at home for a couple hours but being such an affectionate young dog would best be suited into a home where he will not be left alone for extended periods. A home with another sociable dog would also be a plus but not a deal breaker as long as he receives lots of human interaction, affection and is not left alone at home all day.
Shay, still being a puppy, would best be suited to a home where the new owner is prepared to continue his training and socialisation, and ideally has some knowledge of working breeds & allowed access to indoor & outdoor at his leisure.
If you think t you are the right home for this special boy,
Shay would like to hear from you 🥰🐾 💙
