About Silvi
Hi there, my name is Silvi. I'm 1 year and 5 months old, and, well... I've never really seen the outside world. The shelter is all I've known, and I haven't met a lot of people, so everything feels a little scary to me right now. I try my best to be brave, but I'm still learning how to trust.
If you take the time to get to know me, I promise I'll be the most loyal friend you've ever had. Once I feel safe, I'll follow you everywhere-because you'll be my world. On walks, I like to stay right by your side, and every now and then, I'll look up to make sure I'm doing okay. I just want to make you proud.
Right now, I'm still trying to figure out how to be around other dogs. The really bouncy ones make me nervous, so I think I'd be happiest being your only dog for now. Maybe later, once I feel more confident, I'll learn that playing with other dogs can be fun. But for now, I just need a bit of space from all the chaos. Calm, relaxed dogs are fine though-they understand me better and don't rush me.
I'm really trying, but I know I need help to come out of my shell. I dream of a quiet, loving home where someone will be patient with me. I'm a little shy, and I need someone who can help me feel safe around new people and dogs. I think older kids or no kids at all would be best for me-I just need a bit of peace while I work on being brave.
All I want is someone to love me. I know it will take time, but I'll try my hardest to be the best companion I can be. Could you be the one to show me what love feels like?
To book a meet and greet with Silvi please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
