Ruby is a big, fun-loving puppy. She was raised with children as well as a variety of animals and loved to play with them, however she doesn't always know her own size and energy and so is best suited to a home without small dogs or small children. A family with teens or older, or an adult only home would be great. She lives happily with her foster carer's cat. Ruby can be unsure of new people or dogs who rush towards her so she will need gentle introductions when meeting people and pooches for the first time.
Ruby can get quite excited at times however she is very intelligent and has basic obedience such as ‘heel’, ‘drop’, ‘place’, ‘leave it’, ‘come’, 'fetch’ & ‘give’ the ball, and ‘shake’ (paw). She loves to learn so is quite trainable. She would be great at agility. True to her breed, Ruby's brain is always working: she is being trained to help her relax in the evenings on her ‘place’ (this training is working well).
Ruby is an active dog who requires 2 x 1 hour walks a day. She can become destructive when bored or lonely, so her new owners must understand that commitment to her exercise is important. Someone at home lots would be wonderful and she will be fantastic company. Ruby loves to be with you and to be right in the centre of your family.
Ruby is still young so her new owner will need to continue her training. She'll also benefit from a routine and structure. This amazing girl will be so worth the time put into her as she is a gorgeous girl. German Shepherd savvy applicants or anyone wishing to adopt and learn about this breed would be a marvellous fit for Ruby.
