About Lady Jess
Meet Our Little Lady Jess
Our sweet little French Bull dog lady is seeking a foster to adopt home in the vicinity of the Lower Plenty Vet Clinic
All vet bills and food are covered by us while she is in foster care
Allow us to introduce you to our charming little lady, Jess. This sweet girl has endured a challenging few years, having been used as a breeding dog. Despite her past hardships, Jess remains a gentle and loving soul who is now eagerly searching for a caring and understanding family to provide her with the normal, happy doggy life she so richly deserves. Jess just an adorable happy go lucky girl you can but fall in love with her beautiful soul
Health and Breathing Improvements
Jess has spent much of her life struggling to breathe through an airway the size of a straw. Fortunately, while in rescue, we were able to provide her with the necessary surgery to significantly improve her breathin { BOAS} . Jess is still has a poor exercise tolerance so we are continuing to monitor her breathing and assess her over the next few months as she may require further surgery hence our reason for looking for a long term forster carer to ensure she is the best she can be prior to adoption. Jess unfortunately due to poor genetics will have ongoing medical issues and likely to develop arthritis early but this can easily be managed by mediation. Jess also has small ear canals which will require monitoring and regular maintenance of weekly ear flushes. We would be happy for you to have a discussion with our vet prior to fostering to ensure you are aware of Jess health issues Jess will potential need further vet treatments ( at our expense)
If you believe you can offer Jess the loving home she deserves, we would be absolutely thrilled to hear from you. She is a wonderful dog who will bring joy and companionship to the right family.
Jess’s Favorite Things
Being Around People: Jess adores being in the company of humans. She thrives on the attention and affection she receives.
Short Walks: She enjoys taking short walks, especially in the cool of the day.
Chasing the Ball: One of her favorite activities is chasing after a ball, though she prefers short bursts of play.
Interaction with Humans
Jess is a social butterfly when it comes to interacting with humans. She loves hanging out with her human companions and thoroughly enjoys head rubs and back scratches. Despite her love for human interaction, Jess is also quite independent and content with her own company. She has been around children and enjoys participating in the fun activities of family life.
Obedience and Training
Coming from a breeder, Jess has not been taught many commands. However, she is a polite and well-behaved girl. She walks well on a lead and has excellent recall at the local park.
Animal Social Skills
Jess prefers to be the only dog in the household, as she doesn’t like sharing her human companions with other dogs. However, she currently lives with a cat without any issues. While she is social with other dogs, she doesn’t engage much in play and will assert herself if another dog becomes too annoying.
Independence
Jess is a very independent girl who is happy both inside and outside. She rarely barks and is generally a quiet pooch. She prefers to sleep outside on her doggy bed on the enclosed deck, where she remains silent throughout the night. Jess is quite content to be on her own all day while her carer is at work. Nothing seems to faze this resilient girl.
Food
Jess is fed a high-quality kibble and enjoys occasional treats like hot chicken or other tasty morsels you might offer her.
Hygiene
Jess has an easy-to-care-for coat. Due to her small ear canals, she requires weekly ear cleaning with a solution to keep her ears clean. Unfortunately, as a former breeding dog, Jess is not fully house-trained and has frequent accidents inside. We are working on regular toilet breaks throughout the day to address this issue. She is showing significant improvement with regular toileting and understanding the command wee. She is such a cleaver girl
Sleeping
Jess sleeps like a baby all night, ensuring she is well-rested and ready for the day ahead.
Car Travel
Jess loves car rides and enjoys trips to the park. She is a great travel companion who is always excited for new adventures.
Exercise
Jess enjoys short walks, particularly in the cool of the day. It’s important not to over-exercise her, especially in the heat, as her breed can easily overheat. She loves a good stroll and sniff around the park and also enjoys short bursts of chasing the ball.
Inside the Home
Jess is very well-behaved inside the home, aside from her toilet training issue. She is happy to follow you around and be your best pal when indoors.
Jess has a few medical issues that require ongoing attention, but with the right care, she can continue to live a happy and healthy life.
Ideal Home
The ideal home for Jess would be one that is loving and kind, understanding that she still requires some work on her toilet training. A family that can provide her with short walks and is not overly active would be perfect for her.
If you think you can offer Jess the loving and understanding home she needs, please reach out to us. We would love to hear from you and discuss how Jess could become a cherished member of your family.
Jess does require a outdoor shaded area with secure fencing and shelter out of the extreme weather
Family must be able to take her to vet appointments as required
