Little Miss Harper is every bit a typical “frenchie”. She is a little pocket rocket with random bursts of energy one minute and then a snuggler the next.
Harper is a “high end” breed which comes with some high means care! She is not a dog that you can leave outside all day and go to work, as she does not do well in the heat. She is also a toad hunter so needs to be indoors of a night.
Being a brachycephalic breed Harper is a snorter, so if you’re into that then you will be fine. It has been advised that Harper gets the BOAS surgery to help her breathe better and reduce her snorting. She could also due with losing a couple kilos. It is our strong preference that she goes to a home experienced with her breed, or other brachycephalic breeds.
Frenchies overheat easily and need to have access to cool air all the time, she loves lying on the cool tiles under the air con and the fan. it's very important that Harper is kept inside when it is warm outside.
Harper is crate trained, she eats in her crate at meal times and sleeps in there all night (with a floor fan blowing on her). She loves toys and playing fetch, she absolutely loves her foster siblings (chihuahuas) and adores her foster dad dearly.
When she gets excited she does tend to jump and nibble on your hands and arms and can nibble on your toes, which might be a little confronting for smaller kids, we are trying to work that out of her atm.
Apart from the snorting Harper is not a barker, she has only barked twice and that was at the neighbour’s cat, so she is likely not cat friendly.
She is fabulous in the car and does not pull on the lead. She sits for treats and does not snatch. She is a beautiful gentle soul who deserves the very best of homes.
Harper is $600 to adopt and comes desexed, microchipped, C5 vaccinated, and given flea/tick/worm prevention.
