About Diggie Smalls
If you've ever wished for a loyal companion who doubles as a cushion-loving couch potato, then Diggie Smalls is your guy. This terrier mix came to AWL NSW as a stray, likely after a hit-and-run accident, and has shown nothing but resilience and heart. After 11 weeks of recovery from major hip surgery, Diggie is now ready to find his forever family.
Diggie is a social butterfly who loves people and enjoys the company of other dogs.
Diggie is also a playtime enthusiast, with fetch being his favourite game, and he finds great joy in destroying soft toys. He's a big chewer, so a good supply of chew toys will keep him happy. But more than anything, Diggie adores cushions. His perfect family will need to be okay with sharing their couch or even providing him with his own special cushion.
To thrive, Diggie needs a family that's home a reasonable amount of time as he really loves being close to his people. After all he's been through, Diggie will need a settling-in period to adjust to his new surroundings. Once he's settled, his manners are impeccable, making him easy to take anywhere. While he's lovely with children, older kids are preferable-rough, loud play might overexcite him.
The ideal home for Diggie would be one with a family that has the time and patience to let him settle in, older children who understand how to interact gently with a dog, and possibly another well-adjusted dog as a playmate or regular visits with dog friends. And of course, a home filled with cushions!
If you're ready to add a little Diggie Smalls to your life, apply today to meet this one-of-a-kind cushion connoisseur!
