Meet Grapefruit,
Aptly named as Grapefruit, because he ate so much when he first came in his belly became as round as a grapefruit. Grapefruit is a confident & curious cat best suited to experienced owners.
He is suitable for any household environment, thanks to his social & playful nature. He is a friendly & happy boy ready to find his new home.
Grapefruit is open to meet kids from 5 years & up. Reason for this is due to his play style, he came in as a lone kitten quite possibly didn't get to socialise with his fellow litter mates, so he has learned a unique play style. Regardless of this, he is still a great cat for any household and absolutely adores any & all affection & attention. Grapefruit is very engaging & affectionate and also loves being cuddled, picked up & held and patted all over his little, ginger body.
Grapefruit is a chatty boy & loves to chat to you, he loves to communicate & when he is wanting extra attention he'll even go a far as to grab your hand with his little paws & beg for more pats.
Grapefruit was able to see & hear the dogs from our cat park. He seemed concerned, not overly worried & curious at the same time. He became very content when staff started to pat him. So, because of his confidence he could be the type of cat that could live with a dog but as we are unable to test in the environment, we are unable to say that he is 100% fine to live with them. This would be up to the discretion of his new owners.
Grapefruit also seems interested in meeting other cats. When introduced to a few choice felines in the cattery, Grapefruit was super happy & started to purr & make biscuits.
Grapefruit should be an indoor only cat. The outside world comes with many risks, such as him roaming, getting lost, injured or worse. His high energy levels & outgoing nature will surely see him abscond from the property boundary. He should be inside where he is safe.
Grapefruit has high-energy levels & he loves playing with toys. Small, plush toys appear to be his favourite but he will happily play with anything you offer him. He would adore a big cat tower that he can climb & rule over!
When it comes to food, Grapefruit is not fussy at all – he will eat anything offered to him!
Grapefruit also uses his litter tray like the very good boy!
Staff Comments: Grapefruit wants all of the attention and he wants to play & cuddle at the same time. He will need a household with plenty of space to run & play.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
