About Maeve
Meet Maeve, a delicate and beautiful soul in search of her forever home. Maeve's world has always been a little bit scary, and she's still learning that love from a human can be a wonderful thing. She adores other cats and would thrive in a home with a confident feline friend who can show her that not everything is so frightening. Maeve needs someone to show her patience, someone who understands that trust takes time.
This sweet girl is learning how to be picked up and discovering that cuddles can be comforting, but she needs space to do it on her own terms. Maeve will sit beside you, quietly hoping for a gentle hand or a soft word once she's had the time to settle in. She's a super cute girl who just wants to be loved, but only in the right home - one that offers her peace, understanding, and a little room of her own where she can build her confidence and slowly explore the rest of the house.
Older teenage kids who respect her boundaries and keep the house quiet while she finds her feet would be perfect for Maeve. She's waiting for someone who will see her not just as she is now, but as the brave, loving cat she has the potential to become. Maeve just wants to feel safe, to know that she's home, and that she finally has a place where she belongs.
To book a meet and greet with Maeve please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
