About Buddy
Buddy is, as his name suggests is ready to be your new best friend! This beautiful brindle boy can be a bit reserved on first meeting, but he loves deeply, and once he has fallen for you he really would prefer to be by your side as much as possible. If you are out for a trip to the shops or a spot of brunch, Buddy is happy to wait at home alone for a few hours after a good walk and left with a chewable treat like a pigs ear. (be aware you may come home to find he’s made a collection of items of your clothing in his bed. He especially loves shoes) Buddy is also happy to share his home with another suitable hound for company. Buddy is currently in a foster home with a male greyhound and they get along very well.
His foster carers describe this delightful boy as quirky and cheeky, he has a very puppy-like personality and loves to play. In bewtween extensive napping, Buddy loves to zoom in the space he has available and has a delightful happy dance after any attention and cuddles. Buddy loves the car and will enthusiatically jump in and out. It is one of his happy places. You may have some trouble convincing him to leave the car after a fabulous excursion with you.
Buddy is quite the conversationalist, and loves a chat, he isn’t shy about letting you know when it’s time to play or snuggle, and usually it’s always time to play or snuggle! This compact boy with his soft fur is a cuddle bug adores affection and loves to be held.
While in foster care Buddy’s confidence with other dogs continues to improve. He still prefers to avoid being too close to strange dogs while he is on lead. He loves his walks in quieter area with room to keep some distance from scary things but he is getting used to busy streets and footpaths. Buddy would appreciate a home with a modest yard where he can chill and play.
This stunning boy has a beautiful exterior and underneath that is an even more beautiful heart, and he can’t wait to meet the person who will see both.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, some can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour.
As a result we look to rehome dogs into households where they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours per day on a regular basis, without either people or another dog for company. We are happy discuss strategies such as a dog walker or doggy day care. Going to work with you is also a great option
