About Millie
Hi! I’m Millie and I’m looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR MILLIE
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/E97sCj8CjZZtfN2a9
NOTE: You are unable to meet Millie until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Millie in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A cat may be ok with a slow introduction.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• A family who promise to keep me well-groomed and brush me regularly so I’m always looking and feeling my best
• Lots of love and attention
• A quiet & mature family/household - this is what I am used too
• I tolerate other dogs my own size, but I am NOT keen on bigger dogs!
• I can be shy at first, so I need a family who’ll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time
• No young kids, I don’t have much tolerance for them and dislike being around them. I’m best suited to older, mature people!
• I LOVE LOVE LOVE people, so I'm more than happy being an only dog getting all of your love and attention for myself.
• A family that will love and care for me during my twilight years
• I appeared interested/inquisitive when meeting cats at the shelter however once my confidence around them grows I might be more boisterous. If going to a home with a cat they must be dog savvy and we must be introduced slowly.
• I’m not used to being on my own, I am learning how to deal with it here and each night is better and better, I would LOVE a family who is home majority of the time or someone who will include me on day to day adventures (dog friendly ones of course) or a family who will make it easy for me to stay home alone and help me transition to that.
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've had a little bit of a sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence.
• I am super fussy when it comes to doggie food, a family who will do some experiments to find what I like the best is necessary. I am a picky girl!
Things that I don’t want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• No young children as thy frighten me. Older mature kids who will give me space could be ok.
• No other dogs - I don't mind passing them and saying hi when out and about.
My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• Gentle & placid
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered dog
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I walk well on lead
• I LOVE toys, especially cuddly ones
• I love attention, hugs, kisses & head scratches – especially belly rubs, I will flop onto my back for you.
• Well mannered
• Love to snooze on the couch
• Housetrained and used to being allowed inside
• Chases her tail when she becomes super excited.
• I am a little on the chonky side and would benefit from losing some weight
