About Hazelnut
Meet Hazelnut!
Hazelnut is an adorable 8-month-old Kelpie cross with a beautiful black and tan coat. Though small in size, she's bursting with personality and energy! This lively little girl is full of beans and ready to run, jump, and play to her heart's content. Hazelnut is happiest when she's moving, and she thrives on freedom and adventure. Whether it's a game of fetch, running at the park, or learning new tricks, she is always eager to be active and engaged.
Hazelnut is a smart pup who truly enjoys learning and being part of a team. If you're looking for a dog to join you in dog sports, agility, or any other kind of training, Hazelnut would love to be your enthusiastic partner. She's a blank canvas at this stage, so she'll need someone patient and dedicated to guide her training journey. With the right guidance, she'll blossom into a wonderfully well-mannered dog. She gets along well with other dogs and would enjoy a home where she can make some four-legged friends.
Hazelnut is house trained and would be delighted to be part of a family where she can hang out indoors. She's a cuddle bug who would love nothing more than to snuggle up on someone's bed at night, sharing warmth and comfort. Kids who are old enough to help with her training would be perfect companions for her, as she'll thrive in an environment where she gets both mental stimulation and playtime.
To keep Hazelnut happy and healthy, she'll need lots of enrichment-think interactive toys, puzzle games, and plenty of physical exercise. Long walks, exploring new places, and fun adventures will make her tail wag with joy. If you're searching for a loving, high-energy pup who is eager to learn and be your next adventure buddy, Hazelnut is the one for you! She's ready to find her forever family who will embrace her spirit and give her all the love and activity she craves.
To book a meet and greet with Hazelnut please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
