About Bindi
Meet Bindi!
Bindi is a 4-year and 11-month-old Australian Cattle Dog with a beautiful red roan coat. This lovely girl absolutely adores people and loves being around her humans. As a typical Cattle Dog, Bindi is full of energy and would thrive in an active home where she can get plenty of exercise and stimulation. She would be the perfect companion for someone who enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, running, or even agility training. Bindi is highly trainable and would benefit from some continued training to reach her full potential.
She is good on a leash and would love nothing more than to go for daily walks, either in the morning or afternoon, to burn off some of her boundless energy. Bindi would do best in a home with kids over the age of 6 who can respect her space, especially when she's eating or resting. While she's okay with other dogs, Bindi seems to get along better with male dogs who are relaxed and easygoing-she'd be happy to share her home with a male dog that's happy to hang out.
Fun Fact about Australian Cattle Dogs: Did you know that Australian Cattle Dogs are sometimes known as "heelers" because they were originally bred to herd cattle by nipping at their heels? They are known for their intelligence, agility, and incredible endurance, making them excellent working dogs and wonderful companions for active families!
To book a meet and greet with Bindi please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
