About Harley

Handsome Harley is almost 2 years old and has found himself in need of a new home after he couldn’t resist the temptation to chase some cheeky livestock! After living life recently on a chain for his own safety, his family have made the heartbreaking decision to find a more suitable home for this gorgeous boy.
Harley is a big boof head, he is a goofy boy that just loves to have fun and be the centre of attention. Harley loves his people and is quite affectionate once he feels comfortable with someone, he loves pats and cuddles and enjoys being brushed and doted on. Harley often doesn’t realise his size and can be a bit of a bull in a China shop when excited and will jump up and give little excited nibbles. Harley would likely accidentally knock over small children, he is best suited to a home where everyone is over 8 years of age.
Harley is a clever boy that loves to learn, he knows his basic commands and is working on a few extra tricks. Harley is still a young dog and at times, lacks some impulse control, he will need firm boundaries in his new home and to continue with his training. Harley would do well attending group obedience classes so that he can learn under distraction and socialise in a controlled setting.
Harley has always lived with other dogs and gets on well with others, he can get a little over-excited out on walks and will bark and lunge out of frustration wanting to say hello. When Harley calms down, he is happy to meet others and enjoys their company. Harley would love to have another dog in his home, a friendly dog that doesn’t mind a goofy brother wanting to play, he would also be ok as the only dog in his new home. Harley will need to work on his frustration-based reactivity over time and will need a dedicated owner willing to put the time and effort into him.
Harley will need a secure backyard without access to livestock or wildlife, the temptation to chase is too much for this boy. Harley hasn’t been tested with cats or other small pets; he does enjoy chasing wild rabbits so we believe he would likely chase small pets.
Harley is an active boy that can be quite boisterous at times, he will need an active family that can take him on plenty of walks and adventures. Harley would also do well with enrichment to keep him mentally stimulated, treat puzzles, licki-mats, kongs and training games will help to keep him amused and out of trouble.
Harley has spent the last few weeks in foster care and has loved spending time inside and is a good boy settling down at night to watch tv and hang out, he loves cuddling in his bed and always has a soft toy to nibble on for comfort. Harley has been well behaved inside and is toilet trained, he would love to be welcomed inside and included as part of the family in his new home.

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000
Puppies (4 to 6 months) - $800
Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
Mature (1 year to 6 years) - $600
Senior (7 years plus) - $350
