About Lulu
Lulu here with a few important details about me for anyone who might be looking for an addition to their family. I would describe myself as a very sweet girl. I love cuddles and will choose the lap with the highest potential of pats. I also enjoy belly rubs and am quite content to lie in your lap while you rub my belly.
I would like a little doggie friend — someone around my size and who is up for a good game of chasey would be perfect. I can be somewhat selective about my friends, though, so I will need time to decide whether I like your doggie.
As far as food goes, my moto is Always Eat Like You Will Never Eat Again. Foster Mumma says I need a portion-controlled diet and definitely no free access to snacks. I disagree. Be warned, though, that I WILL eat any food you take your eyes off for the briefest moment.
Also I’d like a home where the kitchen bins are quite light and easy to knock over. Foster Mumma’s bins are too heavy, which means I can’t get to all those tasty leftovers she stores in them, although it is not for lack of trying. My tummy can be a bit sensitive at times, so a home that is fully carpeted is probably not going to be the best choice for me.
I’m quite partial to a high perch. Your dining table would be a nice place for me to relax during the day. I will also sneak up there to check for crumbs after you’ve eaten.
I get excited about walks and outings, and I travel well in the car, although I’m also happy to do a quiet bit of sunbathing in the back yard.
I’m timid and unsure around new people. I startle easily and I don’t think I’d like a home with young ones. I will hide when things get too much for me and I’m definitely not coming out of hiding just because someone is calling me. That means you’re guaranteed regular heart attacks when you can’t find my current hiding spot (you’re welcome).
While I think I’m pretty perfect, I do have a few quirks that might be less adorable than my constant tail wagging. I do not care for baths. I repeat, I do not care for baths. They are a fight-to-the-death scenario.
I also don’t enjoy meeting new dogs while I’m on a leash. In fact, I can be downright rude to them. I will need someone who is willing to spend the time to train me and help me to be the best dog I can. I also like to use my voice when I hear something happening outside so I am not well suited to apartment living. But those things are definitely outweighed by my cuteness and my resolve to lavish you with love just as long as you provide a steady supply of pats, cuddles, belly rubs and snacks.
I look forward to meeting you soon!
Medical notes
Five year old Lulu is desexed and microchipped. She is up to date with vaccinations as well as flea, tick, intestinal worm and heart worm prevention.
Lulu has minor luxating patella’s in both legs, but they cause her no issue and she’s not a candidate for surgery. They can get worse with age though, and due to this, we would recommend speaking to your vet about starting Lulu on joint support in the future to help with arthritic changes as she ages.
Lulu has recently had a dental scale and polish, and lost 12 teeth. We recommend she has regular dental checks.
