Khione

Khione (named for the Ancient Greek snow goddess Χιονη) is a 4 months old kitten, pure as the driven snow, two small tyre marks on her head and beautiful chalcedony-green eyes.

She came to SAFE as part of a trio of severely traumatised kittens. They were all very scared when they first arrived in foster care and spent the first week in an enclosure to decompress.

Fast forward less than four weeks and Khione has discovered that humans can actually be very very nice. She dances up to the carer every time she comes into the room; she is inquisitive and playful. She will greet any newcomer to the foster room after only a short assessment moment.

Like most kittens she is very playful and adores a jolly good game of Fetch with the smaller soft toys, and she will play this until your arm falls off. Once she gets tired she goes straight to a lap as soon as it is available.

She doesn’t like to be picked up yet, but based on her progress so far we feel that this will come. We have no doubt that she will continue to blossom in a family with children over 12 who will respect her boundaries and give her the time she needs to grow in confidence.
