About Chappie
Meet Chappie!
Chappie is a 1-year-old American Bulldog x Bull Arab, and he's ready to win you over with his fun-loving personality and cool demeanor. This handsome boy is all about being one of the guys. Picture him kicking back in the man cave, lounging on the couch, and cheering on your favorite footy team. When it's time to hit the outdoors, Chappie's all in - he would love nothing more than to join you and your mates for a weekend camping trip out in the bush, where he can explore to his heart's content.
Chappie is a true adventurer. He loves exploring new places, and his curious nose is always on the lookout for the next great scent. Whether it's walking along the riverbank during a camping trip, sniffing through the forest, or even just roaming around the neighborhood, Chappie is your perfect partner for all things outdoors. He thrives on new experiences and is always eager to see what the world has to offer.
When it comes to other dogs, Chappie's a social butterfly. He absolutely LOVES canine company and would be thrilled to have another dog friend in his new home or a nearby buddy to visit for fun playdates. He's the kind of dog who can't wait to share his day with a fellow furry friend, whether that means chasing each other around the backyard, wrestling, or just lounging together after a day of adventures.
Chappie is also great with kids, especially those who know how to respect his space. He understands that kids can be great playmates, but he also appreciates a quiet nap and enjoys his dinner without being disturbed (because who doesn't like a little peace when they're eating?). Kids who understand that he needs his rest time will find a loving and loyal companion in Chappie.
Chappie is more than just an outdoor enthusiast; he's a super affectionate and loyal dog who will always have your back. He forms strong bonds with his people and will be your biggest fan, whether you're on a grand adventure or just enjoying a quiet evening at home. His love for his family runs deep, and he'll make sure you feel that love every single day.
If you're looking for a best mate who's up for anything - from camping under the stars to chilling out at home - Chappie is your guy. He's ready to be your sidekick, adventure partner, and loyal friend for life. Are you ready to welcome this awesome dude into your life?
To book a meet and greet with Chappie please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
