About Fred
Fred is a super gentle, timid yet loving kitty who has the most endearing personality when you get to know him. Given he’s a bit of a nervous cat, Fred is very shy at first, but once he’s comfortable and confident in his environment, he’s the sweetest boy. Although he’s very wary, he actually craves affection and is sure to open up and show you his cuddly, curious side given some time. He adores head and neck scratches and long pats, and he’ll always meow good morning and give you lots of friendly nudges when he’s warmed to you. You can tell he’s especially contented when he stretches out his paws like he’s kneading the air.
Fred likes his own space, but will also get FOMO if he hears you chatting in the next room without him. He’s still getting his head around the concept of sharing a couch or curling up on a bed with someone else on it, but he will happily settle into a nearby chair or other cosy spot with you in his sight. He loves to be in the company of the people he trusts, and he’s generally super chill and independent, but he can be very playful and energetic given the opportunity. Initially, Fred appreciates his hidey-holes as he susses out a new place, and when he feels a bit unsure or overwhelmed he will sometimes gravitate to these areas for a sense of protection. We think he’s most suited to a quiet, calm home without other animals, but he’s shown so much growth over the past few weeks, he has the potential to be increasingly adaptable.
