About Duke
Meet Duke, an exceptionally sweet gentleman who is searching for a loving home where he can finally live out the rest of his life in comfort and security. Despite facing some challenging circumstances a couple of years ago, Duke's loving heart remains unwavering, and he's ready to shower his new family with affection and loyalty.
Duke thrives on attention and will become your delightful orange shadow, following you around the house with a rhythmical purr. He has a talent for finding the coziest spots, often curling up on your lap or kneading a soft blanket nearby. He loves to be in the room with his favorite humans, ensuring youâre never without his gentle, calming presence.
Although he's on the older side, Duke still possesses the youthful enthusiasm and adaptability of a kitten. He's quick to form strong bonds with other cats and loves having another friendly feline to nuzzle and play with. Yet, he's polite enough to take a hint if another cat prefers solitude. Duke's sociability makes him a perfect fit for multi-cat households, as he effortlessly blends into the family dynamic.
One of Duke's most endearing attributes is his unique "blep" expression, where his little tongue is often sticking out. Though our vets believe it could stem from a birth defect, trauma, or inbreeding common in colony cats, rest assured it causes him no pain. Instead, it adds to his charm, and you might even find yourself accidentally licked when petting him! Duke has had a full dental with majority of his teeth removed.
Additionally, Duke has small black dots around his mouth caused by a condition known as "lentigo." This skin pigmentation change is common in orange cats and poses no health concern, simply adding to his distinctive and lovable appearance.
Duke is searching for a lap to curl up on, a soft blanket to knead, and a kind human to give him the love and care he deserves. If youâre looking for a loyal companion who will fill your home with warmth and affection, Duke is ready to become an irreplaceable part of your family.

Medical notes
Due to Dukes age he has been thoroughly examined by veterinarians before being listed for adoption.
- He has received a dental clean and teeth extracted as of 5/9/2024.
- Duke is able to put his tongue back into his mouth but seems to be most comfortable with at least a little bit sticking out. This has determined to be a malformation/trauma either from birth or before he was picked up by a rescue and causes no pain to himself.
- He has been tested for FIV in 2020 and 2024, and negative on both occasions.
