Meet North, a gorgeous 15-month-old working line German Shepherd that has found herself without a family to call her own. North found herself surrendered to the RSPCA, and after some time in GSRV foster care, is now ready for her forever home.
North is a typical young shepherd who is all about having fun, North has lots of energy and loves to play and zoom around, she is an active girl who is looking for someone that will give her a life filled with adventures and playtime. North will need plenty of exercise in her new home, she will also need to be given plenty of mental stimulation through toys, puzzles and challenges to keep her quick mind working.
North is a very clever girl who learns quickly, she loves to train with her people and just wants to please and be told she is a good girl. North is motivated by both food and toys, she knows her basic commands, but does get easily distracted and will need fine-tune her manners and commands with her new family and practise under distraction.
North is incredibly friendly with everyone she meets, a quick sniff of approval, a check of the pockets for treats and she is happy to hang out and receive pats. North is still young, and at times doesn’t realise her own size, she will jump up and mouth when excited and anyone smaller than her may accidentally get knocked over in the process, she would suit a home where everyone is over the age of 8 who have experience living with large breed dogs.
North has a high prey drive; she wants to chase small animals and after a few bad experiences with smaller dogs, they also agitate her. With a correct introduction, North gets along well with large dogs and generally can remain neutral around others when out walking, at times she may react to others when she is unsure, especially when little dogs get too close, she really doesn’t like these small fluffies that bark!
North will need ongoing socialisation in her new home, practising staying calm around others and refining her doggy manners. North may be suited to living with a large breed male dog, but she would also be ok as the only dog in her new home, we will not be considering homes with small dogs, or other small animals including cats.
This beautiful girl has a quiet confidence about her, she is trusting of everyone around her and just wants to impress. In the home, North is crate trained and will settle down on her bed, but also loves to play, and will talk to you when it is playtime, whinging like only a German Shepherd can! In the right hands, North has endless potential, her loyal, but cheeky nature wins everyone over, she is a total sweetheart.

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000
Puppies (4 to 6 months) - $800
Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
Mature (1 year to 6 years) - $600
Senior (7 years plus) - $350
