About Alfie
Introducing Alfie!
Alfie is a Kelpie x born 31th October 2022.
Alfie was brought in to us as a stray, with several other dogs from the same household. This is a known household to us and upon contacting his owner he decided to surrender him to us. Unfortunately he is struggling to look after himself, let alone all the animals as well. Alfie has always lived outside with other dogs (up to 7 dogs at any given time), this unfortunately means he hasn't had much general training like toilet training, walking on a lead etc. When Alfie was brought in to us he was quite underweight & he has scabs & scars all over his face.
Since being at the facility Alfie has proved himself to be a very sweet boy who is desperate for love, attention & treats. As he hasn't had much (if any) training, he is quite a boisterous boy with lots of energy to burn. Being a working dog, he needs not only mental stimulation, but mental as well. Alfie is very food motivated which will help aid in his training. He's an all-round beautiful boy, who deserves a safe, loving place to lay his head each night.
Alfie tested well with other dogs, he even became our designated "dog tester". He was great with large & small dogs. We feel Alfie could be suitable to live with others, or be a spoilt "only child". If you have a friendly dog at home we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Alfie was scared of our cats & roosters during his assessment.
*Please note our cat & pocket pet testing is done through an enclosure. We cannot guarantee how she will react to smaller, free roaming animals.
Alfie has shown no signs of food aggression while being at the facility, however he has shown signs of separation anxiety. As he has previously housed with several other dogs, we believe his anxiety could improve with other animals around.
Alfie's adoption fee is $450 and includes his desexing and lifetime registration.
Alfie has been treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
