About Gilly
*In foster care in Croydon Park, Sydney*
Gilly is a heart-warming male tabby who exudes gentleness and charm. Named after Gilligan’s Island, Gilly spent a day on his own after all four of his littermates were caught earlier, and we feared he wouldn't be found. But in true resilient spirit, he came back and was successfully rescued!
Due to his scary day alone prior to rescue, Gilly was the shyest of the bunch and remained so for several weeks in foster care. The day he became a love machine was when he experienced his first chin scratch! From that moment onwards, Gilly has been the kind of cat who'll greet you with a soft head rub and a gentle kiss, always eager to show affection :) He often lets out a very quiet, excited noise once or twice when first seeing you, and will then purr the entire time you’re in his view.
A true gourmand, Gilly has a hilarious habit of treating every meal like it’s a five-star dining event. While his siblings are gobbling down their food like they’re at an all-you-can-eat buffet, Gilly takes his time, approaching his bowl with the finesse of a food critic. He’ll sniff his meal, give it a thoughtful tap with his paw, and then, with great care, take his first bite. It’s happened often enough that we knew eventually he’d tap wrong and knock over a bowl at some point... when that point in time came, the food went all over him. Being the calm boy he is, he didn’t seem to care at all. He just sat there for a few seconds and then walked straight over to his siblings Josie and Bear like, 'Alright gang, it’s grooming time.' It worked - they started cleaning him straight away!
Gilly shares an adorable bond with Josie and Bear, and would thrive if adopted alongside one or both of them - however we’re confident he could adapt to a new home without them too.
Like all Maggie's pets, Gilly is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: ... will shower me with love and cuddles! A household with kids or other pets would be fabulous - and if you're open to adopting two cats, I'd ADORE living with either (or both?) or my siblings, Josie and Bear.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I'm quite balanced, really! I enjoy playtime with my siblings, but I definitely appreciate quieter moments too. When I'm with Josie and Bear I'm often the calm presence, watching their antics before joining in, which makes me the purrfect companion for both active and relaxed households.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Excellent! My kind, patient and affectionate temperament is well-suited to family life. I'm always calm and sweet around familiar children, and look forward to accepting all the love and attention they've got to give and hopefully developing a strong bond of love :)
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: Being so polite and respectful of other pets' space, I'd fit right in to a multi-pet home with a minimum of fuss!

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
