About Mario, the greyhound
If you are interested in Mario, or any of our Greyhounds, we require you to fill in our application form - https://forms.gle/3bTG6XWQv49RPxJV6
Easy hound to have around!
Meet Mario! He’s affectionate, calm and loves his squeaky toys! His beautiful blue coat is velvety soft and he adores it when you stroke it and pat him. He loves a good cuddle too!
Mario enjoys lying in the grass chewing an enrichment toy and doing zoomies around the garden, chasing balls and toys that his foster humans throw for him - so he’d probably enjoy a home with some outdoor space.
He is currently in foster care with his brother (from the same litter!) and they are the best of friends. But he’s such a happy and confident dog so he’d be well placed in a home with another dog or content to be your one and only.
He’s had alone time for several hours with his brother and has been happy to wait for the family to return with licky mats and long lasting chews. He’s a very good boy and has never chewed things he shouldn’t or shown any signs of separation anxiety.
Mario is the perfect gentleman on a lead and demonstrates perfect manners - there’s no pulling or reacting to dogs or people he passes. He’s content to just walk by your side and likes to feel your legs against his body as you enjoy the fresh air together. He isn’t bothered by traffic noise either so he would fit perfectly into city life or would continue to enjoy peaceful suburbia - his priority will be the people he shares his place with because that’s what’s important to this people focused hound.
Mario has been a wonderful house guest - with the exception of some very early toileting accidents, he does his business outside in the garden; has no sleep startle issues; and has never shown any resource guarding tendencies. He holds his toileting needs over night but let’s you know when he wants to get up in the morning to visit the garden by nudging the door handle - he’s such a clever boy!
His foster family have thoroughly enjoyed loving him because he’s been so loving in return. And his calm nature and fondness of toys have endeared him even more! He has been very gentle with the children in the house (the youngest is 8 years old) and has enjoyed the company of toddlers and preschool aged children who have visited him and given him happy pats.
In conclusion, Mario is an excellent boy who will enrich the life of anyone who decides to make him their own.
