About Austin
Meet Austin, a charming male Cavoodle with a personality as delightful as his appearance. Some people say he resembles a lovable Wookie, and it's easy to see why—his fluffy coat and endearing demeanor certainly make him stand out. Austin's greatest joy in life is cuddling; he's a true snuggle enthusiast who thrives on being close to his human, whether it's nestled on the couch, in bed, or curled up next to his foster brother.
Though Austin has had some reservations about crates, he might find them more comforting if he had a furry friend to share the space with. He can be a little jumpy around fast movements, but his soulful eyes and sweet nature quickly make up for it. Once he's in your arms, Austin is a cuddle bug who prefers to stay put and soak up the affection.
This little guy has a keen sense of duty when it comes to protecting his home and enjoys the simple pleasure of hunting leaves in the backyard. When he's not busy with his leaf patrol, he's likely catching some z's. Although Austin hasn't explored the wider world beyond car rides yet, he's ready and eager to discover new adventures with a little time and patience.
Austin has a healthy appetite but prefers to take his food from a bowl rather than your hand—he just needs a bit more time to build trust. On his first night in his new home, Austin handled a bath and blow dryer like a champ, and while he might look a bit scruffy now, his unique charm shines through.
If you're looking for a loyal companion who will warm your heart with his affectionate ways and playful spirit, Austin might just be the perfect fit for you.
MY IDEAL HOME: My ideal home is with a family that already have another confident dog for me to play and learn from. I can be quite a shy guy and do need gentle and careful exposure to new things and experiences so a patient family who are willing to continue working on my confidence and skills is essential. I will need grooming every 6-8 weeks and am currently sporting a shaggy do' that requires lots of brushing. I have thrived in a home with access to a grassy yard so me and my foster bro can zoom about playing all day.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I go from having full-on zoomies to sleeping soundly like any puppy. For my age, I'm pretty well-behaved and responsive when spoken to, staying relaxed except when I'm playing with my fur brother. I have mastered many new skills in my foster home including the doggy ramp but am still working on my leash skills.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Due to my minimal exposure to things as a puppy, I'm a bit timid and kids no younger than 10 are best so that they can understand I need time to get to know you and have a calm environment with no sudden moves or super loud noises.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I am currently living with another small dog and we get a long like a house on fire, it's essential that I have another confident dog friend in my forever home. I have yet to meet a cat but with a gentle intro, I'm sure I could live with one.
