About Bob
Meet Bob, a handsome and gentle soul who's slowly but surely learning to embrace the love and care he truly deserves. Alongside his brother Bill, Bob was surrendered to the shelter, a little uncertain about his new surroundings and what it means to be cherished by a family. Day by day, he's coming out of his shell, revealing a heart full of sweetness and a spirit that's eager to trust again.
Bob is discovering the simple pleasures in life, like a good head rub or a delightful bum scratch. These little moments bring out his affectionate side, and he can't help but purr with contentment. He's still figuring out what it feels like to be picked up and carried around, but with gentle encouragement, he's slowly starting to enjoy the feeling of being held close and loved.
In a perfect home, Bob would be surrounded by older kids who understand the importance of patience and respect, giving him the time he needs to feel safe and secure. He gets along wonderfully with other cats, and would thrive in a home with a confident, cat-friendly companion. A feline friend could help Bob navigate his new surroundings, showing him the ropes and teaching him that humans can be his greatest allies and friends.
What makes Bob truly special is his unwavering determination to find his place in a loving family. He might be shy at first, but he never gives up on trying to be a part of something bigger-a warm and caring home where he can finally feel like he belongs.
With his striking looks and a heart that's full of potential, Bob is just waiting for the right person or family to come along and see the treasure that he is. He has so much love to give and would make a beautiful addition to any home ready to welcome him with open arms. To adopt Bob is to invite a wonderful, sweet companion into your life-one who will be forever grateful to have found a family of his own.
To book a meet and greet with Bob please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
