About Thunder
If you're on the hunt for the perfect canine companion, look no further. Allow us to introduce you to our exceptional boy, Thunder, who is also affectionately known as Ody. Thunder is an absolute joy and embodies all the qualities that make for an ideal pet.
Now a big warning lol THIS BOY LOVES WATER so if you are an outdoor beachy family this boy will be in his element or if you have backyard pond expect to see Thunder playing with your fish lol
Thunder or aka “ Odie” is just a young Labby x Golden Retriever but as you can see his is definitely more of the Lab look boy who has so much potential as he has such a lovely temperament he will make a wonderful family addition to an active family that are confident and skilled to ensure this boy has the right training and stimulation as young Labby needs.

Thunder has a variety of interests that make him a well-rounded and delightful dog. He has a particular fondness for food, including his veggies, which is quite rare and endearing. Muddy puddles at the park are another of his favorite things, where he can splash around and have a great time. Thunder also loves playing with other pups, engaging in fun and energetic play sessions. And of course, he enjoys smooching with his humans, showing his affectionate side.
Thunder is a friendly and sociable boy who is always happy to greet people, as evidenced by his very waggy tail. Initially, he might be a little jumpy when over excited so smaller kids will be knocked down , but just needs reminders to keep all four on the floor. He has definitely settled down now that he has adjusted to home life after being in the pound. He is a big gentle giant, and we cannot find any faults with this wonderful boy.
As a young dog, Thunder can be a bit exuberant when meeting new dogs, often getting a little too close for comfort. He loves all dogs but does have some personal space issues which can be very annoying to other dogs t. We have been working on teaching him that he can't say hello to every dog he sees. He enjoys a good rough and tumble with dogs of similar energy levels, although some dogs might find his enthusiasm a bit overwhelming. However, he is improving in reading other dogs' signals and understanding boundaries. Thunder has also been introduced to cats and has shown interest without displaying a desire to chase, so we believe he could live harmoniously with a dog-savvy cat.
Thunder loves his walks and is seeking an active family who will take him out daily. He walks well on a lead and rarely pulls. He has had some off-lead time and has reasonable recall unless distracted by playing with other dogs. Thunder enjoys a game of chasing the ball or a solid game of tug. We suggest avoiding dog parks to prevent over-socialization, which can often occur in such environments.
Thunder is well-behaved and knows how to sit and wait politely for his food. He is gentle when taking food from your hand, although he tends to scoff his food, so we recommend using a slow feeder bowl. He has been fed around other dogs without any issues. Thunder will also sleep on his mat when directed to do so.
Thunder is comfortable spending time outside during the day without any problems. He is happy to entertain himself if needed and has not shown much barking when outside.
Thunder sleeps soundly all night on his dog bed. He currently has access to a doggy door for toileting if needed.
Thunder is currently eating high-quality puppy kibble and enjoys a variety of vegetables, including carrots, broccoli, beans, and zucchini.
Thunder travels well in the car, making him a great companion for road trips and outings.
Ideal Home
Thunder is a versatile boy who will fit into most homes easily. We are looking for a home where he will be included inside as part of the family when they are home. A home that will continue his training and obedience is essential. An active family who will walk and mentally stimulate him daily is ideal. A young dog of similar size and energy that doesn't care about personal space lol would be a great companion for Thunder or he is also fine as an only dog . Please note that no apartments or small yards will be considered for his adoption.
Seeing a family with dog savvy children who must tolerate some jumpy behavior when excited.
If you think Thunder could be the perfect addition to your family, we would love to hear from you!
