About Blue
Hello there, folks!
My name is Blue, and I'm a 10-year-and-10-month-old American Staffy. I may have some silver whiskers, but don't let that fool you-I've got plenty of personality left to share! I'm a handsome blue and white boy, if I do say so myself, and I'm all about good company. People? Love 'em. Other dogs? Absolutely adore 'em. If you're one of those, I already know we'll be fast friends.
Now, let's talk kids. I'd love to have some around, as long as they understand I'm not a young pup anymore. I appreciate a respectful pat or two, but I do need my space to do my "old man" things, like napping and reflecting on life.
I'd really enjoy having another dog friend at home, especially if they're around my age. You see, I still like to think I'm a youngster, even if my bones tell me otherwise. It'd be nice to have a buddy who understands that balance between play and relaxation.
I might not be running marathons, but I do enjoy a good stroll around the block or a gentle walk through the park to sniff out the latest news. After that, I'm all about finding the perfect spot on the couch for the best nap ever.
When I entered the shelter I was very underweight! So when heading to my new home I will need to be fed a good quality food so I can continue to gain weight. The lovely staff at the shelter have said that my new family is more then welcome to come into the shelter to do weekly weigh ins to make sure I am still putting on weight... Isn't that lovely??
So, if you're looking for a charming old fella who's got a lot of love left to give, I might just be your guy. Let's make the rest of my golden years the best ones yet!
To book a meet and greet with Blue please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
