About Thelma STA012466
Introducing Thelma, a delicate and reserved lady who is looking for a quiet, loving home where she can truly blossom. When Thelma first encounters new people or environments, she tends to be very nervous and shy. However, with plenty of time and patience, she gradually starts to feel secure and confident in her surroundings.
Thelma thrives in a calm and predictable environment. She would do best in a home without children or dogs, where her serene nature is respected. Despite her initial timidity, Thelma has a heart full of love to give; she just needs the right setting to feel comfortable enough to share it.
In the right home, Thelma has the potential to become a loyal and affectionate family member, rewarding your patience and understanding with endless love and graceful companionship. If you believe you can offer Thelma the tranquil and routine life she seeks, she might just be the gentle soul to complete your family.
If you are looking for an inseparable pair of furry best friends, consider adopting Thelma along with her sister, Louise. Their bond is strong, and they offer each other great comfort and companionship. However, if adopting both isn't possible, Thelma would thrive in a home with another confident feline friend who can show her the ropes and help her feel at ease.
Louise and Thelma are currently relishing some downtime in foster care to take a break from the busy shelter life. If you would like more information about her or are interested in meeting this gentle soul, please contact our Foster Care Coordinator at foster@catprotection.com.au.
From her foster home -
Thelma is a sweet and chatty lady who loves to rub on your legs, enjoys a good neck-scratching session and is incredibly soft to the touch. Her favourite surface to rest on is a simple towel, so you’ll never be short of blankets, and she loves napping near her favourite people. She loves all kinds of scratchers, including posts and cardboard scratchers, and prefers to stay close to the ground instead of climbing cat trees. She and her sister wrestle nightly, complete with high-speed chases, but she’ll also request playtime with you once you’ve shown her how to have fun. Thelma isn’t very food motivated, and is quite timid when taking treats from you, but she’s always up to sniff your fingers – just watch out for any inquisitive nibbles! She’s flighty but also very curious, so if you have patience and let her investigate at her own pace, you’ll quickly find an adventurous spirit and build a rewarding relationship.

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
