NOTE: You are unable to meet Walter until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Walter in person.

What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners and daily socialisation with other dogs outside my home.
• To be allowed inside with my family
• I like both gentle & friendly male and female dogs
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• A family who promise to keep me well groomed and brush me regularly so I’m always looking and feeling my best
• Lots of love and attention
• I have previously lived with young children
• Being a social and playful pupper I would love to go to doggy daycare
• I have lots of energy so an active family is a must
• Doggy daycare and group socialisation classes would be highly beneficial for me.
• I have a high prey drive so I can't go to a home that already has cats, rabbits/guinea pigs or chickens/ducks as I will chase them
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence
• I need to be the only dog at home, I get jealous and will pick fights. I am ok to socialize and be around other dogs when out & about on a walk, at the beach etc, I would also be okay to attend doggy daycare as I do love to play with other dogs but I need my home all to myself.

Things that I don’t want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• No other dogs – I am more than happy to interact with them but I cant live with one as I get very jealous.
• Cats, small animals or livestock as I may find them fun to chase

My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• Highly food motivated
• I can sit, shake hands & stay
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered dog
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I walk well on lead
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
• Social butterfly
• I appear housetrained
• I love attention, hugs, kisses & head scratches
• Well mannered
• Love to snooze on the couch
• Exuberant & full of beans
• Housetrained and used to being allowed inside

Where I need to improve / Training required
• I need further training on my recall as I can ignore you if you're trying to call me back to you
• I can be very pushy when it comes to doors. I will rush doors push past and ignore you. I need some training on my manners/etiquette.
• Learning how to share affection, I get very jealous if you aren’t paying attention to me.
