A few weeks ago, we rescued beautiful 16-month-old Herman from a rural pound, he was given up due to his energy levels being too much for his elderly owner and soon found himself at risk of euthanasia in the pound. Herman travelled down to Melbourne and was placed into foster care so that he could have his sore ears treated, be desexed and so that we could learn more about him. Herman is now ready to find a forever home, to start his new beginning.
Herman is the sweetest boy that just loves to cuddle in and snuggle, he enjoys pats and will lean into you for more, he also loves being brushed and has been excellent at taking his ear medication. Herman will jump up on the bed for a quick cuddle each night before he goes to sleep, he just loves being with his humans. Herman enjoys meeting new people out and about, however sometimes he can get over-aroused and overstimulated, especially in the home and will jump up and mouth quite hard. Herman would be best suited to a home where everyone is over 16 who are prepared to give Herman consistent boundaries.
Herman loves food, he is a clever boy that responds well to training using both treats and toys as motivation. Herman builds up his confidence learning new commands and has responded really well to frequent, short, training sessions at home, he would do well attending group obedience so that he can practise his skills under distraction.
Herman needs to be reminded of his manners and given consistent feedback and boundaries, he is still a teenager trying to work out the world around him and needs direction from his people, he will require a breed experienced owner.
Herman is an active boy that loves going on adventures with his foster family, he is relatively easy to walk on lead, although he will follow his nose anywhere and likes to stop and smell the roses. Herman has been a frequent visitor at cafes, waiting for his puppacino and is generally well behaved when out and about, he loves car rides and would make the perfect adventure buddy.
Herman will need an active family that can give him plenty of physical exercise and mental stimulation, he is a young, boisterous dog that needs an outlet for his teenage energy and boredom, or he will make his own fun. Herman will need to be kept amused when he is home alone, treat puzzles, kongs, snuffle mats and other challenges will ensure he keeps out of trouble.
Herman is conflicted around other dogs, with a slow introduction, he can greet other dogs appropriately on a walk and doesn’t react to them. Herman lacks doggy etiquette at home, and gets protective of his food around other dogs, he finds himself in trouble when he plays too rough and will need to learn further dog social skills overtime in a controlled environment. Herman is best suited as the only dog in his new home, he would not suit a home with cats or other small pets.
Herman is a goofy boy that just wants to love, he will carry around his toys and is always up for playing or a training session, he adores spending time with his humans and wants to be with them as much as possible, he would love someone home most of the time. A life full of adventure, car rides with his head out the window, and bed cuddles awaits this special boy, he just needs someone to give him a loving home.

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000
Puppies (4 to 6 months) - $800
Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
Mature (1 year to 6 years) - $600
Senior (7 years plus) - $350
