About Honey
The aptly named Honey is just busting to show you how sweet she is. Still very much a puppy at heart, she is a rambunctious little scamp and loves to play, her favourite games are racing up and down the stairs at home, and making piles of her toys (and also other “treasures” like socks and shoes). She would thrive with a yard to zoom around in and get her sillies out.
Honey has adjusted well to her new life as a pet, she has picked up cues such as “touch” very quickly, but is still learning how to walk on the lead. She can get a bit excited when she’s outside the home so will need a confident handler who can continue to work with her and help her slow down. This social butterfly can be a bit too overzealous wanting to greet every single other dog she sees, and she’s not always great reading cues that the other dog doesn’t want to say hello, so guiding her to pass by dogs and be a bit more neutral around them generally is a work in progress. Honey is definitely a lover not a fighter, and if another dog barks at her she doesn’t escalate or get nervous.
Although currently in care with another greyhound for company, Honey is happiest with humans around more often than not, so wouldn’t be suited to a full-time working home. She just loves her people and will follow you around the house to keep an eye on what you are up to. Honey is also an excellent host and loves to have guests visit (both human and canine), she can be found right in the middle of the action ensuring she doesn’t miss a thing.
An affectionate hound, Honey loves to cuddle, and will show you how much she is enjoying it with her big waggly tail. If you walk by her without stopping to give her a smooch, she’ll thump her tail hard to remind you she is nearby and needs attention.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, some can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour.
As a result we look to rehome dogs into households where they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours per day on a regular basis, without either people or another dog for company. We are happy discuss strategies such as a dog walker or doggy day care. Going to work with you is also a great option
