About Louise STA012467
Meet Louise, a delicate and sweet-natured cat who is currently waiting for that special someone to offer her a loving home. Louise is initially very nervous and shy around new people and in unfamiliar environments, but with plenty of time and patience, she will begin to feel secure enough to show her true, delightful personality.
Louise has a genuine love for her food, and mealtime is one of her favorite parts of the day. This passion can be a great way to bond with her as you offer her treats and meals, helping to build trust and connection.
If you are looking for an inseparable pair of furry best friends, consider adopting Louise along with her sister, Thelma. Their bond is strong, and they offer each other great comfort and companionship. However, if adopting both isn't possible, Louise would thrive in a home with another confident feline friend who can show her the ropes and help her feel at ease.
Louise and Thelma are currently relishing some downtime in foster care to take a break from the busy shelter life. If you would like more information about her or are interested in meeting this gentle soul, please contact our Foster Care Coordinator at foster@catprotection.com.au.
From her foster home -
Louise is an assertive but cautious kitty, and I suspect we’re yet to see her entire personality come through. She is a master of shrimping on the couch, gets chattier by the day and likes to sleep nearby her person – though that may just be so she gets first dibs when food is dished out. Louise loves food and treats – she’ll eagerly lick paste treats off your fingers, will delicately pick up other treats from your hand to enjoy on her own time, and when it’s time for a meal she’ll get so excited her beautiful long tail will vibrate. She loves to cuddle her sister and foster brother, but also loves to engage in battle. She can seem feisty with her growls and hisses, but she just needs some space for drama and will be snuggling again before long. Her meows are often more like excited honks, and she’s only getting more vocal as time goes on. She’s somewhat reliant on Thelma for her confidence but once she’s comfortable she’ll spend plenty of time snoozing elsewhere solo. She loves cardboard and plush toys and climbing cat trees. Her mis-matched toe beans, cute little white socks and adorably pensive-looking face are sure to work their way into your heart.

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
