About Ume
*In foster care in Willougby, Sydney*
Ume is a curious, friendly and sweetest little moustached girl. She has the world’s softest meow, and has really come out of her shell since coming into foster care. She is now very happy to explore the house and curl up in your lap if she finds you lounging on the couch. She loves a good head scratch and loves playing with both cat toys and chasing the mouse cursor around the computer screen. She will always welcome a Dine creamy treat and will also come investigating at the dining table if you are eating a hot savoury meal.
Ume suffers from a medical condition that can cause itchy skin flare ups. Ume will need an indoor only home with an owner that will keep on top of flea control as this is the suspected trigger. With the right care, Ume will thrive and live a long and helathy life. See the medical notes for more information.
Like all Maggie's pets, Ume is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: Space to play by myself or with another feline friend. Lots of patience and love to help me settle into my new home!
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I love playing with feline friends and exploring the house in the morning and evening and will usually be found sleeping outside those hours.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I haven’t met any children yet but I'm sure I will get along with them if they are gentle
MY SUITABILITY TO OTHER CATS AND DOGS: I enjoy hanging out with other cats - I've lived with one other cat during my foster care and have enjoyed playing with them.
Medical notes
Ume has skin flare ups due to a condition called Eosinophilic granuloma complex. Management of this condition is to control the triggers - in this case likely fleas. Ume will require an indoor only home and a owner who will stay on top of her parasite control. Should she have a flare up, steroids successfully treat the problem.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
