Hi friends! My name is Bud. My beautiful mum Honey was abandoned on death row heavily pregnant and tragically I was born in the pound. No rescues had any space but the pound refused to euthanise us until a place could be found. Thankfully, the pound works closely with Off The Chain K9 Rescue Qld and so we reached safety! The OTC team worked really really hard to save not just us, but also other dogs who were in the pound and we all came to the rescue together.
Since coming into care with my siblings, I've been a pleasure to care for; my foster carer has worked hard on giving me a great start to life. I like to spend my days exploring the yard, napping and wrestling with my sister and our furry foster sibling who is a large male dog. At night, I am a really good boy! I like to hang out with the other dogs on our beds, snuggle up in a crate and sleep well through the night. I'm working on my house training but haven't had any accidents inside in a while! I am a fairly shy boy who is eager to please does what he's told. I'd suit living with full time workers. My foster family all work or attend school, and I am doing great here. I am learning to be confident around new noises like the mower and vacuum.
I'm a playful boy who comes back regularly to check in when we explore the backyard. I happily run off on my own to explore, but come back regularly to make sure you're still there. I love to come for short trips around the property and help with the errands; gardening, loading the trailer etc. My human siblings are great and I'm very patient and loving with them- they're 12 years and older and my best pals! I love to play with my chew toys, and am working on my 'wait', 'come', and leash skills. I travel well in the car and stay in my spot. If you need a dog who sleeps outside at night, I would adjust to this. While I'd love to be inside, the reality is that approx 40% of rental homes in Aus don't allow inside dogs- and I'm a dog who would adjust and settle quite easily to living outside, as long as I had another dog there to keep me company.
I'm quickly learning the ropes and have been exposed to many new things since being in care such as baths, car rides, and vet trips. I would love to get out for an adventure 3-4 times a week, to run sniff and roll and go on daily walks/runs with you! Myself and siblings are a bit of a mixed breed; I am a staffy x like my mum, and while we aren't sure who my dad is, we assume he was also a staffy x as I am quite a stocky girl. I will likey grow to a medium-large size, probably around 25kg.
I would like to be behind a 5ft fence or higher so that as I grow, I am not tempted to escape the yard. I've made no effort to leave the yard so far however! Being a young dog, I am going to grow up however you allow me to- so it's important to spend your early weeks with me getting my routine and training down-pat. I am a smart pup who is a keen learner and will make you very happy!
So let's do this! Apply to adopt me now- there's a reason you've read this far, I could be the one for you!
Ps- unsure about my name? Well, feel free to change it if you adopt me (most dogs learn new names fast)

Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following: real estate approval, fence repair if needed, outside shelter areas and look into the dog's breed dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed.
Apply here after reading below:- Adoption Application: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/OTCadoptionapp
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applications may meet the dogs. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the dog at your home or in a public place. If you have other animals they should please be at the meet.
If at the meet, you and the dog get along- you have the option of either taking the dog on the spot (in exchange for the full adoption fee paid upfront, and contract signed)- or placing the dog on hold for up to 2 days without any holding fee applicable. When adoption begins you will be provided with 7 days worth of food for the dog, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet carefully and slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox should you want an update on your application.
