Alpine

Alpine is a big-hearted and big-sized, three year old Maremma with a gentle nature and a history of being well-loved in foster care. Having come through the RSPCA and Forever Friends Rescue, and now supported by Maremma Rescue Victoria, he’s ready for a forever home that understands him.

Alpine’s a playful, friendly dog who will thrive with experienced Maremma owners who can read his cues and give him the confidence he needs. He’s not aggressive at all—just bouncy and enthusiastic—so someone who’s comfortable with large, energetic dogs will be perfect. Ideally, he’ll join a home with a mature female dog who can help him learn the ropes and continue his socialisation.

While Alpine needs a bit of guidance on introductions to new people and dogs, he’s a quick learner and will do well with someone who can give him a stable routine and a bit of training. We are able to talk you through what we have een doing and what he responds well too.

He’s not suitable as a working guardian for livestock, but he will thrive in a home environment where he’s part of the family. With the right owner, Alpine’s going to make a loyal and loving companion who brings lots of joy.
