About Roo
Meet Roo, a remarkable dog with an impressive skill set and a loving heart. This well-trained pooch is an absolute joy to live with, demonstrating her intelligence and discipline in numerous ways. Roo knows her commands inside out – from "Sit," "Drop," "Back," "Stand," and "Paw" to more specific ones like "Look" for eye contact and "Bed" to head to her cozy spot. Her ability to "Wait" when told is a testament to her excellent training.
Roo's leash manners stand out, and you’ll love taking her for walks. While she can be a strong walker, she's very manageable as long she doesn’t get distracted by other dogs. Traveling with Roo is a breeze, as she is known to be a great car passenger. And when it comes to home etiquette, Roo is as good as gold. She’s respectful of furniture, only hopping up when invited, and her impeccable manners extend to food – she’ll never steal, even if it's left unattended.
Roo's calm demeanor and independent nature mean she's quite content being left alone, and she's fully toilet trained. You won't have to worry about coming home to a mess or any destruction, as Roo is not at all destructive. However, Roo is selective with her company and does not get along with other dogs or cats, so she will thrive best in a pet-free home where she can be the center of attention.
This intelligent and loving dog is waiting for a family who can appreciate her wonderful traits. Roo's loyalty, coupled with her easy-going nature and sharp mind, makes her the ideal companion for someone seeking a well-behaved and affectionate dog. If you’re looking for a furry friend who’s both a delight to live with and a joy to train and play with, Roo is the perfect match for your home.
Medical notes
Roo was born with a condition that caused laxity in her hind legs, meaning they didn’t form correctly. Despite this, her legs are largely fully functioning apart from a slight hunch in her rear, and she tends to sit awkwardly. Her range of movement is mostly unrestricted, she runs and plays as normal. She sometimes has some minor discomfort, particularly when drying her off around her hind legs but this has mostly been negated with anti-inflammatory medication.
The vet recently diagnosed Roo with osteoarthritis in her back end which is causing her pain however this is easily treated with anti-inflammatory meds. Roo is happy to take all medications without any hassle inside meat, treats, or peanut butter.
She is currently on Metacam for her joints.
Roo is also on anti-anxiety medication to assist with her anxiety and reactivity towards other dogs. This could potentially be stopped after a period of weaning.
She is currently on fluoxetine and clonidine.
