About Sadie
Meet Sadie!
Sadie is a 4-year and 11-month-old Dachshund with a stunning chocolate merle coat.
She's a sweet and independent girl who gets along well with other dogs, especially those that are chilled out and respectful of her space. She's perfectly content being the only dog in the home, but would love to be able to go out and see other dogs when you visit your family or friends.
Sadie would thrive in a household with older teenage kids who understand her preference for keeping all four paws on the floor-she's not a fan of being picked up.
This little explorer loves heading out for adventures, and after a day of exploring, she'll be more than happy to snuggle up on the couch with her family. (A set of stairs might be handy to help her hop onto the couch!)
Sadie is not a fan of cats, so a cat-free home is a must. If you're looking for a loving and low-key companion who enjoys both outdoor fun and indoor relaxation, Sadie could be the perfect match for your family!
To book a meet and greet with Sadie please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
