Diego

This blue-eyed little charmer is Diego, a one-year-old miniature dachshund, who finds himself in care through no fault of his own.

Diego's foster dad has nothing but good things to say about his charge:

"He's an affectionate little dog, who loves nothing more than a cuddle on the lap. He's confident with humans and is happy to interact with visitors to my home.

"He absolutely loves my two dogs and, havingthe energy and exuberance of a very young dog, he's always up for play and a bit of a bit of entertaining puppy mischief.

"Diego has piercing blue eyes, which make him stand out from the crowd. Despite what the photos suggest, he's quite small and lean, although he's put on a little weight since being in care with me. He weighs about 5.5 kgs.

"He's a good eater, a good sleeper and he barks only when appropriate to do so e.g., when someone knocks on the door.

"He's also house-trained and knows how to use the doggie door. The only time he may have an accident - and this is rare - is first up in the morning if I'm too slow to let him out.

"All in all, Diego would make a delightful companion dog for some lucky person."

We are looking for a home for Diego where he will be an integral part of the family. He would do best if his humans are around most of the time and/or he has a compatible canine mate to play with.

He is untested with cats.
