About Zeus
ZEUS came to Ark from no fault of his own. He is only a young boy who would make the perfect pet for any family or person willing to give him time and love. He is super loving, loyal, a great guard dog, lazy at times and gentle with people of all ages and animals.
Zeus is a very shy dog. He is very scared of new people. When he is scared he will often distance himself until he knows them. When Zeus is comfortable he loves to show his love. He is great with his foster toddlers, cats and kelpie
dog. He is a dog who has never shown aggression at Ark, when he is unsure and frightened he hides until trust is gained.
Gentle, playful and super loving this boy will make any family happy. He will need someone who can take the time to train him to be comfortable and relaxed in his environment. Also someone who has the time to gently train him to walk on a lead and be comfortable walking in new environments.
He is very frightened of the lead, training will be necessary but if you are happy without him walking on a lead he is also happy just being in the comforts of his own backyard and inside the home without any expectations of going for a walk.
A purebred Maremma, he only knows domestic life, however could fit into any environment with a little love and training.

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Cats:
If you are interested in one of our cats or kittens, please click on the green "Enquire about ...", button, tell us a bit about yourself and the home you can offer the cat, and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
